There’s lots of complaints amongst harm reduction workers because we’re not fairly compensated for our time. Sometimes, the benefits part of it, we’re always left out. When there’s no room for growth, because as “peers” (which is really what we don’t like being called), it leads to being labeled and we’re pigeonholed into one certain compartment and we can’t really escape that compartment. People with lived experience – I mean, wow, we are the glue.
