When French is Needed

When it comes to our case management load, there are definitely folks that would prefer to have services provided in the French language when it comes to outreach-specific or frontline harm reduction work. And I would say14 years that I’ve been doing frontline harm reduction work in Northern Ontario, there’s only been two situations where I’ve had challenges sort of communicating with someone who would like to access services. And once it was in Northern Ontario and once it was when I was providing services in Toronto actually. Which is kind of strange and probably not what people would sort of think, that you’d be in downtown Toronto in sort of Moss Park area and have somebody who’s monolingual French.
